The Government will re-assign the soybean import duty of 5% beginning January 1, 2012. Having previously released soybean customs entry (0%). "Decree (decree) is valid January 1, 2012," said Chairman II of Gabungan Koperasi Produsen Tempe Tahu Indonesia (Gakoptindo) Sutaryo.
He said the planned establishment of import duties that make soybean prices have gone up at the end of December 2011. The importers and traders have raised the price of soybean USD 200-250 per Kg.
"The position is now Rp 5800-6000 soybean prices per Kg at the merchant, but had still Rp 5.500-5600," he said.
According Gakoptindo members initially did not think the increase is due to the imposition of import duties soybean early next year. During this tempe artisans still considers reasonable if the price of soybeans fluctuates USD 50-100 per Kg.
"We have to bear two increases because there is an increase of soy in the U.S. as well, so two times a ride," he said.
Previously, the government freed of import duties and soybean flour until December 31, 2011. The decision was contained in the regulation of finance ministers or PMK Number 13/PMK.011/2011 which sets tariffs for soybean and wheat flour set at zero percent.
In PMK Number 13/PMK.011/2011 stipulated that tariffs for soybeans would again be raised on January 1, 2012 to 5%. It is listed in article 2, paragraph 2. (dtf)
