How Many Times Do You Eat Tempe in a Week?

Tempe is an Indonesian tradisional fermented soy food. Numerous studies showed that tempe has various nutritional and health benefits, such as a good source of protein; high minerals, high dietary fiber, high vitamins; as anti-diarrhea; prevention of coronary heart disease, diabetes, cancer, ect; and reduce the risk of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women. That scientific facts were not yet known by public, especially student and teacher.

The Indonesian Tempe Forum in collaboration with USSEC, ADM Care Indonesia, and Dongeng Ceria Management (DCM) has successfully conducted nutrition education program on the nutritional value and health benefits of tempe to the elementary school student and teacher at SDSN Perjuangan Terpadu Depok in March 30, 2017. The event started in 7.30 am to 10.00 am. As much as 514 students and 39 teachers followed the event.

Education about nutrition and health benefits of tempe for student should be designed with a fun method, and easily understood. The educational program delivered through the storytelling and interactive games performed by professional storytellers from DCM and education provided to teachers delivered through lecture session by Prof. Made Astawan. Participants were very enthusias, it can be seen from many questions in the question and answer section. Participants were expected to disseminate information about nutrition and health benefits of tempe and soyfood products to people around.
