How Many Times Do You Eat Tempe in a Week?

This seminar was attended by 113 participants including official at National Level, such as representative from Ministry of Health, Ministry of Cooperative & Small Scale Industry, National Agency for Drug and Food Control (BPOM). The aims of event is to provide a means for researchers and practitioners to present the results of their research about development of functional and tradisoinal food in order to improve nutrition and lower the risk of a disease, and campaigning benefits of tempe as functional foods.

The seminar was divided into two sessions. The first Session presented the Chalenges and Opportunity of Tempe Industri in Indonesia by Ir. Tetty Sihombing, representing the Head of BPOM. The second speaker is Prof. Made Astawan. He explained Nutritions and Health of Tempe, and the last session presented Importance of Food Sources of Protein, Vegetables, and Fruits by Prof. Hardinsyah as President of Indonesia Nutrition Society. There are some speakers presented in the second session Mr. Amita Buissink, the Tempe Ambassador from Austalia, Lora Sir Nofi, and Dr. Samsu Udayana, Lampung University.The seminar had good evaluation and feedback from the audience and the tempe stake-holders at the national level. The National Tempe Day Events good coveraged and was broadcasted in the news by local TV station and published in local newspaper.
